8th September, a day musical importance for India. Well, nothing that big, but still its special, at least, for the music fanatics. Today, 8th September is the birthday of both sweet melody Asha Bhonsle and the possessor of a golden voice Dr Bhupen Hazarika.

While Asha Bhonsle gave the Indian film industry a number of innumerable hits(mostly western), at the same time Dr. Hazarika contributed his life towards the Assamese film industry and its folk musicToday, Dr. Hazarika is one of the respectable names in the world of Indian music. Wish both Asha Bhonsle and Dr. Hazarika a very happy birthday.

It is high time now for the producer and director of the small screen to re-think and re-consider the stuff they produce for the audience in the name of reality show. For instance – Bigg Boss. A show that covers a complete hogwash. The show depicts no creativity at all and is not worth watching. It is all about cribbing and backbiting among the house members. The idea for choosing controversial artists create even more doubt. If it was the criteria of the show then it is okay. For someone, who are trying to improve their image, the show could have been the ideal platform to manifest their real person in them.

What the artists are doing inside the locked room? Just following the weekly schedule given by the programmer. The participants could have discussed many creative debate on child marriage, women trafficking, an addiction of drugs, child labour and so on – the list is endless. But what were they seen talking, just finding faults against each other. Under complete air condition the weekly programme that Bigg Boss directs the participants, who do not even drop a sweat. There are many other ways, where the artists could display their credibility.

The elimination of Monica Bedi from the house seemed to be definitely scripted. As Rahul once mentioned during a talk-a-talk with Monica and it was a wise and better idea for the producer to eliminate her, as well because, the way Crime Branch, Mumbai and the CBI team have been eying her every move. Besides that they have also demanded the uncut footage of the recording for examining what Monica confesses during the show. However, by no means, right from the word go, the show began with controversies.  Had it been related to the TRP of the show, then in that case - no issue at all.

The producer could have invited 26 different personalities from 26 states and from various fields instead of the current participants. Renowned personalities from the field of dance, drama, art & sculpture, book writing, social activists, preaching, singing and cricket could have been included.

Change the idea and stop showing this. What our children leraning, who glue to their TV set? The society has already been going through the bad phases of cribbing and backbiting. And, the show is a kind of advertment and encouragemnet on how to abuse each other and engage oneself in to the filthy gossip.

Saw the film, “Rock On” and liked it quite a lot.In fact, a movie that inspires me to write a bit of a review after a long time :-)At a broad level, its a rock band movie, at least in terms of the genre. However its a lot more than that. Its a movie about friends, about friendship, about childhood dreams. Its a movie that talks about having passions, and pursuing what you are passionate about.Farhan Akhtar makes a good debut as an actor this time. Its also produced by him, but not directed by him. There is an interesting parallel between this and his first directorial venture, Dil Chahta Hai.Both films are about friends, and about a friendship that got interrupted by one significant incident, and returning back to being friends later. There is another parallel in the way the films end. In both DCH and Rock On, the end is shown with scenes of ‘living happily ever after’.The music by Shankar Ehsan Loy is good. For the theme of the movie. Right away, I don’t see myself humming the tunes, but the music looked very much in place, for the story.Which reminds me - there IS a story. And I am sucker for good stories, and which is perhaps the reason why I liked the film. All characters have been developed well - the 4 stars of the band, the two wives and a few other minor characters. I mean, you get to understand each character. Many a film stops after developing the main protagonists, and you see everyone else in the film as a part of the furniture! Not so in Rock On.All characters are developed well. And they have all acted well too. Farhan Akhtar does a good job in his debut film. So does Prachi Desai - a famous television soap star making her film debut. She is very convincing in her role. They have also styled her look well, and her dresses are also good. The other actors have also acted well, including Arjun Ramphal, Purab Kohli, and surprisingly, Luke Kenny too.I came out of the theatre feeling good. I recommend you to see it..

Honble Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was recently seen sharing screen with King Khan on the set of Paanchvi Paas, where the minister formally announced that he wishes to work in a film along with Shahrukh and want to play a politician in the film to portray the real picture of the political leaders as they are shown in a bad light in Indian cinema. Interestingly, the episode of Paanchvi Paas, featuring railway minister, was telecast when the nation was gripped in the trauma of the cash for vote scam.

Political leaders were seen displaying bundles of notes in the parliament that were offered to them for abstaining from the trust vote. We the people of India saw the real face of Indian politics and were shocked to see our representative indulging in such a shameful act. That was not scene from any Indian movie, but a live recording of the Parliament session that was eagerly watched by people from not only in India but across the world.

A similar incident rocked the nation two year ago when it saw the MPs accepting huge sums for putting question in Parliament. This was not the first incident of such type as the history of Indian politics is flooded with unhonorable act of our honorable leaders. Still if our Railway Minister feels that the politicians are shown in a bad light in Indian cinema, then audience must be desperate to watch as to what traits of politician will the minister show in his film.

But yes if Lalu Yadav will be seen delivering dialouges in cinema who will look after the India Railway that witnessed series of blasts and accidents in last one year.

If my figures are not wrong at least 50 people died in a fire that broke in the Gautami Express last week. And reports says the fire was caused due to the negligence of railway staffs. But how does it matter?

Our Railway minister will grant compensation and a free ticket of the movie he will feature in. “Lalu bhi Khusu, Victim bhi Khush!”

This is the personna of the man called Lalu Prasad Yadav who is the biggest crowd puller- bigger than the host of “Kya Aap Pannchvi Paas SeTez hain ?”

Bhai leader ho to Lalu Ji jaisa. Kya baat hai!
